The Original Mr. Big Stuff Hit

In 1971, New Orleans native Jean Knight made a aational "Number One" hit with the song "Mr. Big Stuff."  Inspired by this famous hit, the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club established a new Zulu Mardi Gras Character named "Mr. Big Stuff."  Stephen Rue is this year's Mr. Big Stuff character for this the 100th Anniversary of Zulu.

A New Song for a New Century

Now, the Zulu Centennial Mr. Big Stuff Stephen Rue has joined with the original artist Jean Knight, along with the reknowned Rockin Dopsie, Jr. and the Stooges Brass Band to make a new Mardi Gras classic.  Hear the song on our float Mardi Gras Day.

The new song, produced by Mr. Big Stuff Stephen Rue will be released during Mardi Gras of 2009, in perfect timing to celebrate Zulu's 100th year of parading.
