Krewe Updates

VIEW OUR FLOAT:

Mr. Big Stuff is pleased to announce that our Krewe Members may view of Mr. Big Stuff Float on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 10 AM till 1 PM.  The float is located in Den #4 at Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras World .  From Downtown / French Quarter: Cross Mississippi River Bridge
Exit General DeGaulle, East then take a left on Shirley to Mardi Gras Blvd. Follow signs to Mardi Gras World!

MARDI GRAS DAY:

All Mr. Big Stuff Krewe members should meet at the New Orleans Hilton Riverside at 3:30 AM (at our selected ballroom) to complete dressing in our costume, have black face make up applied, and enjoy Krewe breakfast.  We sahll be taking buses to the float loading zone, no later than 5:30.to 6 AM. 

It is strongly recommended that you make sure that you come with your complete costume as set forth on this website (including wig, glove and grass skirt),

IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU PLACE A VEHICLE IN THE NEW ORLEANS CENTER PARKING LOT ON MONDAY NIGHT, FEBRUARY 23, 2009 (STARTING AT 6 PM) AS YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN TRANSPORTATION AFTER THE FLOAT RETURNS TO THE LOADING AREA AFTER THE PARADE IS FINISHED.

KREWE MEETING:

We are pleased to announce that our next Krewe meeting  and social is Saturday, February 7 from 4 to 8 PM.  It is hosted by Krewe Lieutenant Ed Harris and his lovely wife Jeanie (Also a Krewe member).  The event will be catered. 
 
Please note that the meeting portion of the event will commence sharply at 5:15 PM.  We shall be going over important information and giving out some float beads, hats for our costumes and other items.
 
Additionally, please note that WE NEED ALL SIGNED RELEASES (THREE ORIGINALS PER KREWE MEMBER.)  IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY TURNED IN YOUR RELEASES AND/OR NEED RELEASES, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY CONTACT KREWE CAPTAIN DOUGLAS MELANCON AT (504) 259-4628 dmarcellus@bellsouth.net OR STEPHEN RUE AT (504) 319-9990. StephenRRue@aol.com.
 
Additionally, if you are ordering beads to be delivered on the float all orders must be made immediately to Plush Appeal.  The Plush Appeal information is found on our Krewe web site. www.MrBigStuff09.com
Also you should order your coconuts immediatly (also check web site for information).  Remember that you cannot have coconuts on upper levels of our float.

Directions from New Orleans
Take I-10 East
Just after crossing Lake, take exit 262 Oak Harbor Blvd
Turn left at end of ramp on to Oak Harbor Blvd
Go 2 miles just past golf club house and turn left into gates Inlet Drive- for The Inlets (If gate is closed, use call box on left scroll down to Harris)
Go .6 miles and #82 will be on the right, with Zulu flag flying on palm tree

Mr. Big Stuff '09
The Zulu Coronation Bal held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center on Friday, February 20, 2009.  You may buy tables (of 10 - while tables are available) directly through Zulu.  You may call Zulu's office at (504) 827-1661 and/or purchase the tickets directly at the finance office on the Second Floor of the Zulu Club, 732 N. Broad Street.  The finance office is open for you to purchase coronation ball tickets during the following times:
 
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 1-7 PM (closed on Wednesdays);
Saturdays1-4 PM.

Tables are limited and may sell out.
